RED SNAPPER SEASON IN DESTIN, FLORIDA
Red Snapper anglers should be smiling! The Red Snapper season has been officially announced by the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council.
According to the Council:
“Federally permitted for hire season will be open for 51 days in 2018. The season will open at 12:01AM local time on June 1 and remain open until 12:01AM local time on July 22, 2018”
What you need to know:
- Private Anglers (that’s you) need a permit or license for Florida when fishing for red snapper.
- You may fish anywhere in federal waters
- Private Anglers mush abide by all other requirements for landing in state.
- Limit is two (2) fish per person
- Minimum size limit is 16 inches total length
